Productive Dentist Academy Allies with Million Waves Project

Anacortes Business Takes on Two Global Issues with New Collaboration with Local Non-Profit

Million Waves ProjectAnacortes, WA – September 2018 – Productive Dentist Academy (PDA), a nation-wide dental consulting and marketing firm – is pleased to announce their alliance with the Million Waves Project, a local non-profit dedicated to reclaiming the oceans and providing prosthetics for those in need. As part of PDA’s efforts to spread the message of Million Waves Project, ocean conservation, and helping those in need, they mailed 250 reusable stainless steel straws to their clients across the country along with information about the work Million Waves Project is doing.

“One of the cornerstones of our company is Doing Good While Doing Good,” said Regan Robertson, President of Productive Dentist Academy. “As a company, we care deeply about helping others and consider ourselves fortunate to live on beautiful Fidalgo Island, part of the San Juan archipelago. Million Waves Project combines our two passions of caring for others and being good stewards of what we are blessed with. We’re very excited about this partnership and what we can achieve together.”

The Million Waves Project, founded in early 2018 by Anacortes residents Chris and Laura Moriarity, provides 3D-printed limbs made from plastic found in the ocean. Every year, 28-billion pounds of plastic ends up in our oceans. Approximately 40 million people in the developing world are in need of prosthetic limbs, yet only five percent have any prosthetic options. The Million Waves Project brings together these two unacceptable global issues and provides a sustainable and smart solution.

“This is a partnership that will prove fruitful for PDA and the Million Waves Project,” said Laura Moriarity, COO of the Million Waves Project. “Having local partners like PDA spread our mission within their business will absolutely result in more children and adults having access to 3D printed limbs. We are grateful that they share our passion for helping others.”

This combination of donations from local businesses and spreading of their mission throughout the nation is a huge leap for the Million Waves Project’s mission to clean up and project the ocean while helping those in need.
