Investment Grade Practice™ News – August 2024
Dear Doctor,
Are you the leader your team deserves?
As a dentist and business owner, you are not only responsible for the success of your practice. You are the guide to your team that helps navigate challenges and nurtures growth so you can deliver exceptional patient care.
There was a time in my career when I was so focused on the success of our clients and organization, that I put my team last. The impact of this subconscious decision was a painful learning experience I have been grateful to not repeat.
When you lose sight of team development, three things can happen:
- Practice performance drops
- Patients leave
- Employee turnover increases
With all the plates you spin as a clinician and business owner, it is difficult to spot the cracks in your foundation until it’s too late.
Stop spinning plates and take control like a Productive Dentist:
- Communicate with Clarity: Your team’s individual contributions are the backbone of your practice. Schedule time to tell the team your philosophy of care and provide clear, detailed instructions that will help them perform their tasks with precision.
- Align and Empower: Your office manager is the translator of your vision into action. They deserve to see how their efforts align with your goals. Hold consistent meetings and involve them with your strategic planning. This will allow you to delegate and be productive.
- Inspire with Vision and Values: People want to be part of something greater than themselves. Share your long-term vision and, most importantly, paint each employee into it so they understand how to contribute for success. Encourage innovation. This is a powerful way to foster a culture of growth and innovation.
It’s never too late to change course.
