Today we’re going to talk about something that is super important to me: delegation. Delegation is the process of working with people and getting them to do things they really want to do so we as doctors don’t have to do everything ourselves. Some people call me a “master delegator” and I think that’s a super important part of productive leadership.
Anything I can delegate to my team, I do. The key is constant training and teaching. I take the time to educate my team and give them the skills they need to take responsibility for different aspects of patient care, so I am free to focus on the procedures that need my personal attention.
